about Qigong
The body is recharging in slow motion
Qigong is
physical and mental training on the same time. One does not burn energy, or
become tired,
like in normal training....it is not felt "like the old way".
Therefore it is sometimes close to the thought:
These slow, simple movements canīt possibly make any difference !?
But is exactly what they
do! It is many times difficult to put into words, but the results will
come in one
way or another. People claim they sleep better, and have more energy. Body
feels more agile, pain and ache decrease. Seniors sometimes experience that
the body feels younger.
" We slow down, and relax, bodypart after bodypart. Simple movements are
coordinated with breath,
and an inner image. The breath, the movement, and
the picture ... together ".
This combination is typical for Qigong, and it creates a powerful, active
meditation.
Relaxing is the key
A relaxed body helps to
create a relaxed mind. A relaxed mind, on the other hand, influence the body
positively. After practising Qigong regularly for a period, one can clearly
notice how body and mind work together, and we are training both these sides with
this type of practise.
An inner tranquility will often be the
result, while body itself becomes healthier and stronger.
Qigong proves that we
donīt have to accept ache and pain, we donīt have to accept that the joints
of the body stiffen up when reaching higher age. The body can be kept soft
and agile for very long.
A base-program you learn in a couple of months, alternativly a
weekend, even in a day. After that it is a question of motivation and
discipline.
If you really want to find out what Qigong is, you must experience it
personally. Practise regularly, learn to relax the body and the mind, little
by little, with patience.
Qi, the lifepower, will start to flow stronger in your body, in your muscles,
joints and organs. It will clean out old toxins. Sooner or later you will
personally experience and understand why this training has survived
thousands of years.
Qigong
is the mainpillar of the TCM, Traditional Chinese Medicin, where the
Acupuncture is the most wellknown part. In TCM one sees the human being as part of
something bigger ... one smaller energysystem, which is part of a bigger one, the
nature.
The treatments aim to
strengthen and balance, NOT to "cure" symptoms. Qigong is often part of the
treatments. Most Chinese doctors are also Qigong-therapists.
Qi like a
mountain-stream
"Qi" is the lifeforce,
and "gong" is what is being created where there is qi. Qi "pushes the blood".
Since a relaxed body has a strong flow of qi, this body also has a strong
bloodcirculation.
Qi is a lot mastered by the mind. "Qi goes where thought go", one often says
in the Qigong-schools.
So we learn to have attention directed to different parts of the body.
There are schools who "take it" further, saying that the mind is run by the
heart.
Therefore it is very important to think "pure".
"If your thoughts are cloudy, your
qi also becomes cloudy, the force does not flow like
it is supposed to do. If your thought
is clean and pure, qi will flow clear and fresh like
a mountainstream in your body"
Master Li Jun Feng
Beside Yoga and TaiChi, Qigong is for sure one of the most delicate and
special forms of training available today.
Here one has big possibilities to get to know oneself, while
developing a strong
and balanced body with good circulation.
Regular practise of Qigong undoubtely leads to a life in a healthy
and agile body.
Often also to an increase awareness in several ways.
**************
Myself I have had the honour and pleasure to train with some
wellknown and highly
respected teachers and masters.
Mostly inspired I have been from practising with Master Li Jun Feng, for many years headcoach for the
Chinese Team in Wushu and TaiChi, and also founder of the Sheng Zhen Qigong-school.

Master Li Jun Feng
I have also been strongly influenced by Master Fan Xinlan, founder
of the famous Biyun-method.
The long period of personal training in Spain, for TaiChi-master
Pepe Carmona from Granada,
I value as extremly
important.
Finally I want to mention Zhan Zhuang as a constant source to
inspiration and personal motivation. Fantastic Qigong !
Read more about Zhan Zhuang in
"more about qigong"
My own Qigong- and TaiChi-teaching is a blend of the above mentioned
schools,
but is also influenced by other branches of spiritual bodywork.
This teaching has grown from many hours of practise during these 20
years, and it is continuesly
growing.
