ZenSkii

Skiing with awareness

ZenSkii is skiing with attention, full attention. It is mixed with, and coloured by, TaiChi, Qigong, and the so called "ski-ballet" (the ski-dance). And of TaiSki of course !
The old exercises from China have, since long, proven to be excellent training for balance and coordination. The ski-ballet, which used to be part of the Freestyle skiing 30 years ago, fills a similar purpose, and becomes, maybe even more, an attractive tool for the passionate skier.

There are many different moves, some are easy, some are more difficult. What they have in commen is that
they will help to reprogramme the body, and develop a better "listening", sharper reflexes, and a new bodyawareness.
Better balance and a more centered position will be the result, and you will
probably experience an increased sensitivity in your footsoles.

ZenSkii is conscious skiing. This means one is developing a feeling, a contact.
How do I move ? Why ? Am I relaxed ? or do I just think that I am relaxed ?

Maybe I experience my body as relaxed, in balance and in control, but my mind is not relaxed. Some worry might be there, or a disturbing thought, which will not go away. Maybe some insecurity, fear or anxiety. Maybe one is just having mind somewhere else.

The skiing will always be influenced, one way or another. It does not has to mean that the run is spoiled, or that we fall, but the real flow will be missing ....

Control

The concious skiing is skiing in presence, being as "mindfull" as possible....
also when working with the technique.
The mind, the thought, feelings and emotions. The breath ...all are influencing the body strongly.

ZenSkii-school focus on helping you to see and to understand this, and to take control over your body out there on the mountain.

During the winterseason I offer workshops, clinics and seminars at some selected skiresorts. Certain courses you will find in the calender, but you are also welcome to contact me if you have wishes or thoughts to arrange something of your own.
It can be a private lesson, as well as a weekend-course for you and some friends, at a place you decide.
Another alternative might be to let a group of staff develop good energy together while playing and laughing, learning the basics of ZenSkii.
